Saudi Crown Prince Urges International Recognition of Independent Palestinian State

In a significant diplomatic appeal, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has called upon the international community to formally recognize an independent Palestinian state. This call was made during discussions with prominent figures in Mina who were in the region to perform the Hajj pilgrimage this year.

Addressing the gathering, the Crown Prince underscored the importance of this recognition as a vital step towards achieving lasting peace in the Middle East. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's longstanding stance on the issue, advocating for the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital.

The Crown Prince highlighted that recognizing Palestinian statehood is essential for enabling the Palestinian people to secure their legitimate rights. He emphasized that such a move would not only address the historical grievances of the Palestinian people but also contribute significantly to regional stability and harmony.

Mohammed bin Salman asserted that the creation of an independent Palestinian state is pivotal for a comprehensive, just, and enduring peace in the region. He stressed that Saudi Arabia remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and will continue to urge the global community to take meaningful steps towards this goal.

The Crown Prince's remarks reflect Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East, reaffirming the Kingdom's role as a key player in regional and international diplomacy. By renewing the call for international recognition of Palestinian statehood, Saudi Arabia seeks to galvanize global support and action towards resolving one of the most enduring and contentious issues in the region.
